I've used the wave analogy for grief before. It's very accurate. People who have never deeply grieved tend to think of the healing process as a straight line, from bad to better to good, but it's not. If it were, it would be much less infuriating. Sometimes all you can do is ride the waves when they come and catch your breath and rest between their approaches. You've got this.
